 Instead of taking a break from studying for finals and, oh, I don’t know, taking a nap or reading a book or watching TV, I decided to draw all over my face because I am a mature adult.

I’ve always wanted to try out Erik makeup, and I definitely needed a break from studying, so there you go. I’m certainly not a special effects artist, and I didn’t have liquid latex or anything like that. Just face paint and old eye shadow, which was a super fun challenge because it isn’t easy making it look like your face is a skull with just paint! But it was so much fun. I digitally changed my eye color, removed my nose, made my fingers bonier, and added the background, but other than that, this is all face paint—I didn’t digitally manipulate my actual face. Other than upping the contrast because it is a terrible quality phone photo. I really need to buy an actual camera one of these days.

This was actually a great exercise in illusion—obviously, my facial bones aren’t that prominent, so I really had to work to make them look like they were, and it was so much fun. 

So if I fail my finals because I spent an hour and a half doing this instead of reading about early English literature, it’s all Erik’s fault.
